So, I was doing the exercises on the Ultimate Grammar book. I am not a native-English speaker. But do you think this answer is a typo?

8. ___An___ hour ago I saw ___a___ eagle flying overhead.

Is it not supposed to be
"An hour ago I saw AN eagle flying overhead." - because eagle has a vowel sound...

seems a typo to me..an must precede eagle..
