Probably to encourage us to type more than just the answer

For example you might want to type in a few sentenses as to your logic to reach that answer

It`s either A or B. A emphasizes the volume of case, whereas B points out the huge monetary claims.

Then, it should not allow anyone with only single/double words, not a single character without "." ..

A means more professional time spent on defending the suits + court fees => increase in legal expenses for the companies.

Not B because the total awards has not grown much, discounting for inflation

(A) weakens the above argument to the T.
(B) talks about some of the largest awards being made in the last 2 years .... but this in no way weakens the argument since the argument clearly states that the number of successful suits has remained the same and the average sum has grown no faster. So, if some large awards were made in the last 2 yrs then we can support the argument in context by stating that some smallest awards were also made in the last 2 yrs. So, (B) does not weaken the conclusion.

My vote for (A)

To weaken, we should attack the statistics being quoted. (A) does exactly that, by giving us counter figures.
