Thanks for the guidance...I'm going to pick up the MGMAT material and the OG (I haven't done either yet)

GS, Whats your error log saying, are you making careless mistakes or serious technical errors. Any type of error can be corrected. Error log is important because it is the only thing that states about the quality.

Time yourself during all tests. Prepare for GMAT when you are tired (atleast RC's). Because I missed simple RC's because of fatigue.

As you said, OG is the Bible. Understand what is said, use LSAT powerprep. Check how manhattan SC is linked with OG (using their pattern match).

Forget Manhattan and Kaplan. Take GMAT power prep, it will tell you where you stand. Hope that helps......

Thanks for the responses. I now have all the MGMAT material and the OG in my hands. I'm starting to go through slowly and keep an error log. I'll keep you posted on my progress.

freshinha,

I hope! Thanks for the support. I'm sorry I couldn't meet up with everyone in NYC, I had to leave town last minute.

I'm determined, but I have come to realize that it takes more then just determination to get a 700+. I've been studying for awhile now and I hope I can stay positive. It gets REALLY discouraging at times. When I started this process (studying), I had NO idea what I was in for. It has taken a toll on my confidence, my social life, and until recently, my well being.

I'm trying to mentally encapsulate thinking about the gmat during "gmat study hours" only. I'm also attempting to maintain a work/study/play balance (if possible), and I started eating better and running daily. We'll see. I've been at this for a long time now and I'm pushing on.

thanks everyone for the help...i've been MIA studying the mgmat study guides (while keeping an error log) Your recommendations have been great -- I'm happy to report a 700 on my latest practice test. I just hope it wasn't a fluke. I'm going to continue to review the material and purchase the gmat club tests and try to continue to repeat 700 practice test scores.

thanks again everyone...still fighting...

Re: start 380 -> 630 -> pushing forward...need some support [#permalink]
Hi All,

I need help and advise. How can I improve my score? I started my GMAT Prep some time back and I joined Kaplan class but my prep is not good at all. I have my GMAT TEST after one week and I am thinking to postpone it for some more time as I gave GMATPRP yesterday and I got just 620. I am so much frustrated.

Here are my Kaplan Scores;-
KAPLAN
CAT1 -660
CAT2 -620
CAT3-620
CAT4-600
CAT5-590-
CAT6-630
CAT7-650

Here are my princton scores:-
CAT1- 590
CAT2 -580
CAT3 -640

I am good in Quant but I am very bad in verbal. can you please tell me how can I improve my verbal score?
I have already given above test so I am running out of CATs. Can you please let me know ant other resource for GMAT TEST.

I read on this forum about "1000SC" and 1000CR". This is new for me. Can you please let me know what are these and where can I get them?

I will really appreciate your help.

Regards
VKG

My practice scores are now ranging from 590-730...i'm not really sure what to think but my test is coming up very soon. On the GMAC offical practice test 1 I scored a 730, but I haven't broke 660 on manhattan gmat. I'm not sure what that means but I'm going to give the offical test a shot.

All the best giantSwan . If you keep your cool on the test day, you really can cross the 700 barrier.

so on the two offical gmac practice tests 730, 620. Has anyone seen this kind of deviation in scoring??? Should I postpone the exam? Any suggestions?

I think you should take GMATprep at least 3 more times and see if you can stablize your score and go for it.

I definitely agree that you should take GMATPrep a few more times (majority of your questions will be different every time if you retake several times).

Amazing progress so far! I have no doubt you will hit 700+ on the real thing. Keep going!

Agreed that a quite a number of questions will be different. But if you happen to come across a question you've answered on your previous tests, and you happen to remember the answer, try to spend the full 2 minutes on that question so that you do not artificially increase time for other questions and bloat your score because of that.

real exam 580. I'm not sure what happened. I was nervous during the quant so I think I lost pts there, but the biggest suprise was a 31v. I was easily clearing 37...and doing it consistantly.

Regroup and retake the test. There is no reason to give up now.
