Hi,

as per official explanation, option A is incorrect because two independent clauses and joined using a comma.
1.it was erected by Aurelius Ambrosius in memory of a number of British chiefs whom Hengist and his Saxons treacherously murdered in A.D. 462
2. some believe that Ambrosius himself was buried there.

However
in case of option E, two independent clauses:

1.it has excited the attention of historians since early times

2. and some believe that Ambrosius himself was buried there.

are joined using a comma

how is this answer the correct choice...

how is this answer the correct choice...


But aren't the two independent clause connected by the conjunction "and", use of FANBOYS(Conjunction) makes the option valid.
