Student admissions to medical school are not accepted solely based on their MCAT scores; other considerations include their undergraduate grade point averages and extracurricular activities.

The original sentence implies that student admissions are not accepted - awkward description. Rather, it should be Student Who seek admissions OR Students 'Seeking admissions". So any answer choice with student admission goes out of the window - A,C,D out of the window.

Between answer choice B and E there is a pronoun error (Their Vs its). Their indicates students, its indicates Medical school. So E goes out of the window - Answer choice B

(A) Student admissions to medical school are not accepted solely based on their MCAT scores
(B) Students seeking admission to medical school are not accepted solely based on their MCAT scores
(C) Student admissions to medical school are not accepted solely based on the schools’ MCAT scores
(D) Student admissions to medical school are not accepted solely based on MCAT scores
(E) Students seeking admission to medical school are not accepted solely based on its MCAT scores

F) Students' admissions to medical school are not accepted solely based on their MCAT scores

I still doubt if it would be a legit choice because the phrase "other considerations include their undergraduate grade point averages and extracurricular activities"has thier which should refer back to Students not to Students admissions

Thanks__

One Possible Choice: Is it legit choice?

F) Students' admissions to medical school are not accepted solely based on their MCAT scores

So in this option Students' admissions to medical school are not accepted solely based on their MCAT scores
Students', this will be a plural subject. There are multiple students.

IMO, sentence will be no more an Independent idea, i feel there should be something else there as well for the non underlined part to exist independently.

Students' admissions - implies that two or more students share one admission and there are many groups who are part of such admission.
Eg: North Korean students' admissions to the various United Nations Programs have been kept on hold by the native government.

So even in case we were presented with option F, Option B would still convey complete unambiguous idea.

Experts may correct me if I am wrong.

Official Explanation:
This sentence has two implied pronouns, their and their, only one of which is in the underlined portion of the sentence. Therefore, the correction must create an antecedent for the second their. Begin by looking at the first their. It is implied that their refers to the students. However, student is used as an adjective to modify admissions, and is not in the noun form that is needed for an antecedent. Choice (B) corrects this error, and gives the second their a clear antecedent. Choice (C) states that medical schools take the MCAT. Choice (D) removes the first offending pronoun, but does not provide an antecedent for the second their. Choice (E), like (C), states that the medical school takes the MCAT.
