I too go for B.

The question says that the students responded with a traditional definition of tragedy and that, to me, seems to be a characteristic of the Dualist stage.

I believe the answer for the second should be A because only if they are in the relativism stage will they try to find "A correct place for everything" which is what they are doing when they write the essay and show all different characters with their different tragedies. They are trying to fit the characters into the essay.

I also got A & B.

For 2nd question B is correct because the students responded as it being the traditional definition which tells us that all the students agree to one point and also whatever it is has be deduced to 1 explanation, though we don't know its right or wrong here. These characteristics are of teh dualistic state.
