Hi mekhdi,

The last time you discussed your studies was over 4 months ago, so before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying during that time - and your goals:

1) How have you scored on EACH of your CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
2) What is your goal score?
3) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
4) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
5) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

While study guides can be good, many of the best GMAT strategies can only be shown through practice or some kind of simulated thought process.

That is the approach we strive to achieve in our video tutorial walkthroughs -- something you cannot find in any guidebook.

During your SC studies, we encourage you to follow along expert video explanations to guide you in your thought process.

Here's a shared Google doc of video links you may find helpful:

Hi mekhdi,

For verbal, I would highly encourage you to consider e-gmat verbal online or the e-gmat verbal live course. They are both amazing courses especially designed for non-natives. They offer almost 25% of their courses for free so you can try out their free trial to decide which one you want to go for. Plus the e-gmat Scholaranium which is included in both the courses is one of the best verbal practice tools in the market. You can easily track your progress in that you can identify your strengths and analyze and improve on your weak areas.

Further taking multiple mocks might help. Apart from the GMATPREP, Manhattan GMAT tests and Veritas Prep Tests in my experience have good verbal and Quant section and will certainly help you point out and improve your weak areas.

Further another advantage of taking many mocks is to build up your stamina. Apart from the GMATPREP tests, taking practise tests of any major GMATPREP company ought to do that.

I would also encourage you to purchase the GMATPREP QP 1 for some great additional practice. Here is a link that will help you with your decision.

Hope this helps. All the best.

Hi mekhdi,

I’m glad you reached out, and I’m happy to help.

Although I can’t say what will work best for your GMAT prep, the important thing is to objectively evaluate your progress so that, in the event that your prep books aren’t meeting your needs, you don’t end up overinvesting time in a resource that isn’t working for you. Thus, if after four to six weeks you find that you are not making the improvement you need, you should perhaps think about changing up your study routine.

Also, you may find it helpful to read this article about
how to score a 700+ on the GMAT.

If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out.
