Subscription Question? [#permalink]

Hello,
I am wondering how subscriptions work. I recently have been participating in several threads and have received very useful emails regarding replies to my discussions. However after sometime, I no longer get emails for some reason and a manual visit to the threads shows new replies without notification.

How do I renew the subscriptions for those threads or get the email notifications from new replies? Do I have to repost a discussion to renew or is there another way? I am not that familiar with the bulletin board system but I do have the checkbox checked for "Notify me when a reply is posted"

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

The way the topic subscription works is the following. Once you start following a thread (by posting in it or subscribing to it), you receive email notifications as soon as a reply is posted. However, it sends only one email notification until you visit that thread again. So, it is possible that people post in the thread before you visit that thread. In order to "refresh" your subscription, you have to visit the thread you're subscribed to once you get the notification. If you don't visit, the system doesn't send you further emails about new posts in that thread.

Here's another similar explanation of the notification system:
