System went down, Score dropped 40 [#permalink]

After I was done with the AWA section, I took the 8 minute break. I was back within 3 minutes only to find out that the lady operating the system couldn't get it back up.

Myself and a couple other test takers could not get back in!

When I got back to the Quant section, I noticed I was down to 68 minutes remaining!

I let the proctor know about this and he said don't worry the time will be added back.

I proceeded with the test and ended up rushing a lot of questions.

Long story short I bombed the Exam :(

This was my second attempt, I got 580 on my first attempt a little more than a month ago and I got 540 on this one!!!! :( :( :(

Yesterday I scored 650 on GMAT prep and the day before I scored 640 on MGMAT Exam.

The proctor gave me a complaint number/issue code.

What do I do now ? I want to re-write it next week, is that possible ?

Any help would be great appreciated.

wow,feel sorry for you.
You can try to email pearson and report the problem. As far as I know they can let you to retake the test for free if you can prove that problem.
Just try to set the best time to retake it

Sorry to hear about the experience.
You can only take the GMAT once every 31 days, so your next attempt can not be next week...

I would write/call GMAC and try to get a free voucher for the test. There is no way you can recover your lost confidence (worth a lot more than $250) but you can at least try getting the exam fee waived.

I would just put this behind you and spend the month relaxing and perfecting. Don't take too many cat's/kill yourslef but at the same time, don't get rusty.... hope this does not screw your plans too much...

While no one likes to have this happen to them, just look at it as an experience (that will rarely occur the second time). I'd definitely second bb's idea and call for a voucher. At least you'd get the next GMAT for free and while it may take over a month to recuperate from what has happened, it's something that you deserve to have for another try.

Wow, really sorry.

GMAC might provide you with a voucher for $250 and let you retake it, but I don't think it is possible to retake it next week since they recycle the question bank every 30 days or so, and there is a strict rule that you can only take the GMAT once during a calendar month or something like that. I'd call and ask them for the voucher and book the earliest test date you can.

Good luck.
