hey guys maybe it seems odd to retake gmat at 700 but i have low on Verbal 77% and AWA (4.0) and so it seems it should retake the gmat to imrpove upon those areas...last time round i just gave 23 days..so maybe i realize that AWA and verbal takes a longer time to prepare....i appliad at Oxford and ISB but didnt make thru so propably a better score i wish i had a 760 could help....suggestions needed from u guys who have retaken the gmat

Did they say why you didn't make it? A lot of schools can be really helpful and it never hurts to ask.

77% on verbal isn't low, and a 700 GMAT is quite competitive. What are your other stats? A 700 wouldn't get you dinged anywhere, and neither would a 4.0 AWA.

I completely agree. I might be more prudent to focus your efforts on other aspects of your application.

hey i feel the otehr issues in my application could be

Competetive indian IT pool of applicants
low gpa actally 65% marks from a no-name engineering school...but these are factors i cannot change so i am concetrating on things that could still be changed...like GMAT, better essyas, shwoing leadership skills/ community service what do u gys say

I'm no admissions officer, but I just dont see the 700 being a factor. I think its about the essays at that point.
