C for correct usage of "different from" and also parallelism "Tektites are much like.....but ....chemical composition is different from....".

differ from -- looks more idiomatic.

A,D,E
improper comparision
A,D - comparing "composition of Tektites" with "terrestrial lava"
E -- comparing "composition of Tektites" with " composition of terrestrial lava's"

Also B,D,E distorts the original meaning.
distorted meaning: terrestrial lava/lava's contains/containing far less water"
original setence .. "they" (Tektites) contain far less water"

C -- is the best and compares properly.

"composition of Tektites" with "that (composition) of terrestrial lava"
