I wanted to share my feelings and flame the GMAT (a little bit). I took the yesterday and after I finished my last verbal question, my test crashed. It displayed an error message and I could neither report and see my unofficial scores, nor complete the new research section.
I do not know whether the two events are somehow related (new test sections and a test crash), but up until now I have not received any up-date regarding my test (although I was supposed to be contacted by the GMAT personnel yesterday) and I still do not know my unofficial scores.
Has anybody experienced similar problems and how long does it usually take for the GMAT to resolve them?
P.S. I will write some comments about the content of the exam after I get my scores.
After I finsihed my exam on 21st and went to the proctor for the score, she enquired if my PC also crashed. There were some 5 folks who gave the test that day laong with me in the noon slot and according to her, only I could get the official scores. The remaining people didnt get their scores that day. Not sure if they got them the next day or not.
That is frightening, please let us know if/how this was resolved!
My computer hung a little during the essay sections, and quite a bit during the experimental sections, but I think that was just the computer not keeping up (audio files for the experimental section for example), and not software crashes. But I would have been freaking out if I knew that this had happened to people recently!
Best of luck, hopefully it's a refund AND you get your test scores! That is some unnecessary stress to be sure!
definitely get your cash back. for the amount of cash these folk are raking in they ought to have some better computers. i know at the test center i was at the computer took forever to give me my test scores. it was bad.
Well..i too shared the same experience. I had taken the exam on Nov 22nd and had completed the entire graded section and was answering questions in the survey on new question types to be introduced when i faced this situation. I presume it happened as i was merrily clicking answers with scant regard to its relevance to questions :0 .. and its been two whole days since this happended and GMAT is sleeping over it with no reply to my reported incident... really sucks !!!!
"We have reviewed your incident and would like to get in contact with you to schedule a new GMAT exam at no additional cost to you."
Basically - my exam was lost, and I have to retake it.
In order to be able to retake the exam, I will have to go to the nearest test site, which is in another country, and I will have to spend additional 150$ on travelling expenses. This is none of their business and I have to cover these additional costs myself.
