Hi, Paul!
I hope you enjoy reading and answering questions and get something valuable for yourself!
My profile I’d like you to evaluate is as follows
29-year-old Russian female
Degree in Economics with overall distinction from the provincial Russian university
GMAT not taken yet.
Work experience: 7 years, full-time work.
I was engaged in corporative analysis for 5 years, but I hadn’t worked in famous firms, just in local FMCG companies (120-450 employees).
Positions: an analyst, Head Deputy, and then Head of Management Accounting Department.
The number of employees of the Department varied in different companies from 4 to 6, so I got a valuable portion of team-building experience.
The main functions of a Management Accounting Department were typical for Russian province: collecting and analyzing all data about company’s activities and implementing IT-technologies to improve the reflection of the company’s performance. When switching from one job place to another, I every time needed to adjust myself to the industry conditions and specific standards at the companies.
I like Management Accounting because of the opportunity to feel how the company handles with various challenges of the environment, and suggest measures to improve the situation. But in Russian province conditions, many tasks-to-solve were out-of-date because of the low IT and MA budget.
That was the reason for me to change my field and obtain some entrepreneurial experience (no employees involved except of me). I also learned how to keep books according to Russian law. Now I work in the local chamber of commerce as Head of Business Information Department.
After getting an MBA degree, I plan to switch into Investment Banking, especially into securities trading. This will also provide me with the opportunity to feel the situation through numbers which is exciting for me!
Hobbies: Eastern fighting, horse-riding, belly dance. I also got in my achievement-list a parachute-jump, just to get the feel how it is. I’d like to emphasize my partaking in the university chorus: it helped me know how to meet my voice with the others’ voices. And I believe this experience is quite similar with team-playing.
No community service can I announce about…
Target Schools: Stern, Tuck… Actually I wouldn’t like to spend much time for study. Maybe, you’ll suggest something among European schools? My minor might be entrepreneurship.
What are my weaknesses and strengths?
In GMAT and TOEFL what should be my score target?
What scholarships can I successfully pretend on?
Thank you for evaluation and advice!
