Thanks vivek. When I was in high school my grammat teacher use to mention that ENGLISH IS A MONKEY LANGUAGE. There are more exceptions than rules.

I find that more than half of the times LOGIC does not work. I am still learning the GMATical rules.

I must comment that your questions and participation/discussion here has helped me (and definitely other GMAT clubbers) a lot and encouraged me to solve more SCs from the 1000's collection.

I go with (E). We're doing a comparison here: "is X than is Y." (A) lacks parallelism, (B) and (C) are awkward, (D) suggests that she's presently a man while in the past she was a woman.
