Re: The average Holstein heifer calf born in New Zealand weighs between [#permalink]
The average Holstein heifer calf born in New Zealand weighs between 80 and 85 pounds at the age of 1 month. Hence, if a one-month-old Holstein heifer calf weighs only 78 pounds, its weight gain is below the average weight of Holstein heifer calves in New Zealand.

Which of the following indicates a flaw in the reasoning above?

A Weight in only one of the health indicators of newborn cattle. irrelevant as it speaks about health indicators
B Some three-month-old Holstein heifer calves weigh as much as 100 pounds. irrelevant, we do not care about 3 month old calves
C It is possible for a normal Holstein heifer calf to weigh 78 pounds at birth. irrelevant, we do not care about how much a calf weighs at birth
D The phrase below average in this context need not necessarily mean inadequate irrelevant, as we are not said anything about being inadequate or adequate
E Average weight and average weight gain are different metrics. right choice.
