The box contains 10 tablets of medicine A and 15 tablets of medicine B. N tablets are taken from the box at random. What is the least possible N that ensures that at least two tablets of each kind are among the extracted?

IMO A: but OA is C(17)

what does least means here..?

its obvious that if we choose 17 then condition will be met but LEAST.........:

if we choose 12 (10+2) dn what wrong in that?

Vishal. First, don't post OA with your questions let others solve the questions too.

least possible N that ensures means we have to pull out N number of tablets and ensure that have at least 2 tablets of a single color.

So to ensure we get both the colors, we remove 15+2 tablets. So that even if the first fifteen are of the same color, the next two will be of other color.

Will not post OA in question.. I think i have not paid much attention to ENSURE word

* in which case 12 can be answer...(?)
