+1 for A

Split 1:
The correct usage here is 'Bring an X on staff', all others are wrong.

A. bring an organizational ombudsman on staff, lest he be seen as unsupportive on
B. bring an organizational ombudsman into the staff, lest he will be seen as unsupportive of
C. bring an organizational ombudsman onto the staff, lest he is seen as being unsupportive on
D. bring an organizational ombudsman to the staff, so that he wouldn’t be seen as someone who is unsupportive of --> Wordy
E. bring an organizational ombudsman in the staff, so that he isn’t seen as unsupportive on

Official Explanation

A question about the role of ombudsman.

The correct idiom for hiring somebody is to bring this person “on staff.” Only (A) gets this idiom correct.

Also, the word “lest” is most often followed by a clause with the verb in the subjunctive. Here, the correct use of the subjunctive is “lest he be seen.” Again, (A) gets it correct. The “so that” clause in (E) would be correct also.

The best answer is (A).

B, E and C are incorrect as the correct idiomatic for is ‘on staff’. D is far too wordy, so it must be A

"Unsupportive on" issues
"Unsupportive of" people

Lest requires the subjunctive: "lest he be seen"

On staff is idiomatically correct.
