The computer software being designed for a project studying Native American access to higher education will not only meet the needs of that study, but also has the versatility and power of facilitating similar research endeavors.

(A) but also has the versatility and power of facilitating
(B) but also have the versatility and power to facilitate
(C) but it also has the versatility and power to facilitate
(D) and also have the versatility and power of facilitating
(E) and it also has such versatility and power that it can facilitate

My question is whether computer software is singular or plural

You'll need a 'but' to join the sentence properly. So we consider (A) (B) and (C). (C) is out as we are not clear what it modifies. From the sentence, we know 'it' is supposed to modify computer software, but the position of the word seesm to modify study.

Finally we want to parallel meet with faciliate, instead of the original facilitating. So (B) is my choice.

Hey awab75, there're some buttons above the message window which allows you to bold out, or put in italic and also underline the words you select.

I think 'have' doesn't indicae that software is plural. For example, the sentence "I have finished my homework". In this case, I is singular but we use 'have'.

The reason I rule out (A) is because of poor parallel structure.

awab, this is not testing sing/plural tense. Instead, it is testing future tense. Look at B carefully:

[...] will not only meet the needs of that study, but also have the versatility and power to facilitate [...]

proper idiom "not only... but also"
verb tense is future " will not only meet... but also have"
