The distance between two towns is x kms. A car travelling between towns covers first k km at an average speed of y km/hr and the remaining distance at z km/hr. The time taken for journey is

A. k/y + (x-k)/z
B. ky + (k-x)/z
C. k/y + (k-x)/z
D. ky + z(x-k)
E. ky +(x-k)/z

Total distance = x
First k at y kmph and remaining x-k at z kmph.
Time taken = k/y + (x-k)/z

A is the answer.

wishalsp333. Option A and E are same.
