The area of a circle is proportional to the square of its radius. The outermost circle has a radius that is 3 times the radius of the innermost circle, it's area must be nine times the nine times the innermost circle's area. Answer E.

Hi PareshGmat,

In these types of Multi-Shape questions, it's important to keep track of the data for each shape.

Here, we're asked to compare the areas the BIGGEST circle and the SMALLEST circle.

The biggest circle has a radius of 3, so its area is (3^2)pi = 9pi

The smallest circle has a radius of 1, so its area is (1^2)pi = 1pi

Thus, the ratio of the "big area" to the "small area" is 9:1

Innermost circle --> r = 1 --> A = pi

Outermost --> r= 3 --> A = 9 pi

Ratio = 9:1
