The figure shows parallelogram $$ABCD$$ where $$AB = 6, AD = y, ∠ABC = 70^o$$ and $$∠ACD = 85^o$$. If the perimeter of $$ABCD$$ is $$28$$ what is the value of $$x + y$$?

first angle B and D are the same and you have 2 of 3 angles thus x=180-70-85=25

P=28
AB=6

2y=28-2*6
y=8

8+25=33

Since the perimeter of $$ABCD$$ is $$28$$, we have $$2(6 + y) = 28, 12 + 6y = 28, 6y = 16$$ or $$y = 8.$$

We have $$x = 180 – (70 + 85) = 25.$$

Thus, $$x + y = 25 + 8 = 33.$$
