The first 3 terms of a sequence are 2, 7, 22. After the 1st term, each consecutive can be obtained by multiplying the previous term by 3 and then adding 1. What is the sum of the tens digit and the units digit of the 35th term in the sequence?

There is a cycle for every four number: 2,7,22,67; 202,607,1822,5467

Therefore the sum of tens digit and the unit digit of the 35th = 3th

2+2=4

1st term: 0002
2nd term: 0007
3rd term: 0022
4th term: 0067
5th term: 0202
6th term: 0607
7th term: 1822
8th term: 5467

so the units digit toggle between 2 and 7
the tens digit toggle in this manner -> 0,0,2,6,0,0,2,6,.....

35th term: units digit = 2, tens digit =2. Sum = 4.
