I think A should be fine. Since u removed A from the choices list then u should have the OA.
nothing in here is perfectly fit in the passage to make it sound right.
Though B is appealing

B distorts the meaning, C,D are out as prediction is used instead of predicts
E is awkward and wordy

I think only A is correct. Other options are not good structured.
