To begin with, The Han Chinese ethnicity is singular in nature
because of which the underlined portion having plural references make the sentence wrong.

a. constitute(PLURAL VERB) 92% of the People's Republic of China and 20% of the human population, making them(PLURAL PRONOUN)
b. constitutes 92% of the People's Republic of China and 20% of the human population, and consequently it is
c. make up the constituents of 92% of the People's Republic of China and 20% of the human population, and make them(PLURAL PRONOUN)
d. are the constituents of 92% of the People's Republic of China and 20% of the human population, and therefore is making it
e. have been constituting 92% of the People's Republic of China and 20% of the human population, and have made them(PLURAL PRONOUN)

For these reasons, Option B which corrects all the errors is the correct answer choice.

The Han Chinese ethnicity, known within China as the "Descendants of the Yan and Huang Emperors", constitute 92% of the People's Republic of China and 20% of the human population, making them the largest single ethnic group in the world.

a. constitute 92% of the People's Republic of China and 20% of the human population, making them
Singular verb CONSTITUTES and singular pronoun IT should be used for singular noun HAN CHINESE ETHNICITY. Hence Incorrect
b. constitutes 92% of the People's Republic of China and 20% of the human population, and consequently it is
CORRECT
c. make up the constituents of 92% of the People's Republic of China and 20% of the human population, and make them
Ethnicity is not creating the constituents. Use of AND is incorrect. Singular pronoun IT should be used for singular noun HAN CHINESE ETHNICITY. Hence Incorrect
d. are the constituents of 92% of the People's Republic of China and 20% of the human population, and therefore is making it
Changes the original intent since Ethnicity is not a part of sth. Use of AND is incorrect. Hence Incorrect
e. have been constituting 92% of the People's Republic of China and 20% of the human population, and have made them
Use of Past Perfect to refer a fact is incorrect. Use of AND is incorrect. Singular pronoun IT should be used for singular noun HAN CHINESE ETHNICITY. Hence Incorrect
