IMO the answer should be C. 'Speak to' is necessary before noun, each other.

A. miles apart to conveniently speak or otherwise contact each-> one another is required

B. miles apart to conveniently speak or otherwise contact one

C. miles apart to conveniently speak to or otherwise contact each

D. miles apart to conveniently speak to or otherwise contact one --> correct

E. miles apart to conveniently speak to or make contact with each

Ans: D (one another & speak to are required)

Hi, the non-underlined portion has other, not another. So we need to use each.

Errors..
1) parallelism..
Speak and contact are parallel, so conveniently speak or otherwise contact each other MEANS conveniently speak each other or otherwise contact each other..
This sounds odd..
Correct would be - conveniently speak TO each other or otherwise contact each other.
So - conveniently speak TO or otherwise contact each other.
2) each other Vs one another..
Firstly it gives you only OTHER, so one other is absolutely wrong..
Each other IS between two people, and conversation is being spoken here to be between two people.
One another is between a group of people..

Only C corrects both errors

Each other vs one other
Each other - refers to two people.
One other - refers to more than two people.
In this context, the sentence refers to two people so it is "each other".
We can eliminate B and D.
In option E "make contact" changes the meaning of the sentence.
So, we can eliminate option E.
The sentence construction is as below
miles apart
to conveniently speak to ... each other
or otherwise contact each other.
So, to is necessary.
We can eliminate option A.
Correct choice is option C.
