i have to go with D

E almost sounds right except for "selling of on credit" and the fact that the word rearrangement changes the meaning

D IMO.

X broke Y for the decision... sounds awkward.
X broke Y when it was reorganized... appears much concise...

i think B should have been "because of the decision at its 1958 reqorganization to sell...."

and not to mention "at its" is doubtful too.

B for me :

a) during its 1958 reorganization for deciding to sell
b) for the decision at its 1958 reqorganization to sell
c) in deciding during its reorganization in 1958 to sell
d) when it was reorganized in 1958 for its decision to sell.
e) by deciding at its reorganization in 1958 on the selling of

acde all are awkward in their structure

and the phrase "to sell" would be required to indicate the purpose !

Should be C. There are better ways to say this but the author does not want to. Of all the given ways, C is RELATIVELY correct. Honestly, in our spoken English, we sometimes use the form given in C. But I cannot recall having heard other forms. Of course, this is no basis to answer any question but when one has no rules to go by, one has to resort to experiences and examples from real life!

Do you find any similarities between these questions. I do not. One is Sarah Palin and the other is Tine Fey.

I am not sure which one is original and the other is replication of the original one.

I guess they are talking about when J.C. Penny broke in cash and their policy, so I think it is better if Underlined statement starts with "when"

therefore I will go with D, and D makes more sense other than any other option, what y'all say?
