A couple things in response:

1) "has continued" doesn't necessarily mean that the action won't continue into the future. "Since...has" indicates an event that started in the past and is still ongoing ("It has been raining since 10am" means that it's still raining...there's no end specified there).

2) There isn't any "incumbency" to the meaning expressed in choice A, so I'd avoid using "it changes the meaning" as a way to eliminate answers. Think about it - 80% of the time the original sentence / choice A is wrong, and most grammar errors are errors precisely because they produce an unclear or illogical meaning. You just can't use that as a standard - if A were "A GMAT tutor for Veritas Prep, Brian's response to my GMAT Club post..." the meaning expressed by that modifier error is that my response to your post is a GMAT tutor, which is a clearly flawed meaning. You can't try to preserve that meaning in the other choices!

3) A really important point comes out of choice C. When you have an auxiliary verb like "has" or "do" - where the action verb is implied based on its presence somewhere else like "Tom set out to win the game, and he did (win the game)" you have to fill that "blank" next to the auxiliary verb with the exact verb in the exact form it appeared elsewhere in the sentence. So in C, the auxiliary verb "has" has to refer exactly to the verb "perpetuate," and "has perpetuate" is incorrect.

Company is a singular noun, will remove options with they.

D is incorrect, incorrect reference of who.

Out of C and E

Since 1972, this indicates present perfect tense

C is talking about the future by using will- incorrect, This is not the intent.

E is correct by saying, legacy has still continued.

This sentence is uncommonly badly written. (Companies don't have beliefs. It's redundant to use both "continue" and "perpetuate". The sentence is in the past tense, so a present-tense verb is needed in the part about "active repertory" because that's something that's true in the present.)

The future tense, by the way, is not compatible with "Since 1972". The only tense that works with that timeframe (an interval that continues into the present) is the 'present perfect', HAS/HAVE [verb]ED.





The future tense doesn't work here (see above).

"Has and will continue" is ungrammatical. This structure implies that the word "continue" is distributed to both parallel parts—giving "has continue" and "will continue".
"Has continue" is wrong.
(The same principle explains why you need, for instance, "greater than or equal to". I.e., "greater or equal to" is wrong for the same reason.)

I chose C as opposed to OA E. Doesn't E change the meaning of the sentence by removing "will". This means they have perpetuated only until today but will not be doing so into the future.

Here, the underlined portion begins with the pronoun "they," which is meant to refer to "the Limón Dance Company." But since the dance company is a single entity, it takes a singular pronoun. "They" is therefore incorrect. The sentence also contains the awkward and incorrect verb phrasing "have and will continue to perpetuate." The subject is the dance company, and it makes no sense to say the dance company have perpetuate or the dance company have to perpetuate .

Scan and Group the Answer Choices:

A quick vertical scan of the choices reveals a 3-2 split on the pronoun at the beginning. (A) and (B) use "they" while (C), (D), and (E) use "it."

Eliminate Wrong Answer Choices:

(A) and (B) can be eliminated because they use the plural pronoun "they," which the initial analysis revealed to be an error.

(C) can be eliminated because it continues to use the incorrect verb phrasing "it has . . . perpetuate."

(D) corrects the pronoun error and uses the grammatically correct, though wordy, "has perpetuated and will continue perpetuating." However, (D) creates a new problem at the end of the underlined portion. The phrase after the underlined portion, "who both choreographed," must refer to what came immediately before the word "who." Ellipsis is why C is wrong.
it has (continue) and will continue is what the sentence above actually means to say. But, grammatically, it has to: IT HAS CONTINUED AND WILL CONTINUE.

D is just wrong on so many levels.

E is grammatically correct.
