cells killed initially = \(10^3\)

Doubles every hour for 8 hrs = \(2^8\)

Total number of cells killed after 8 hrs = \(10^32^8\)

C is the correct answer.

1 hr = 10^3
now doubles every hour ; it becomes 2* intial value
so for 8 hrs ; 2^8 * initial value ; 2^8 *10^3

After 1 hour, the number of cells was 10^3 x 2, after 2 hours 10^3 x 2^2, …, and after 8 hours 10^3 x 2^8.

Answer: C
