The people of Olama Village share a religious tradition, which includes the tenet that no eggs be consumed that have been locally produced. If the people are to maintain their religious traditions, then they may not prepare dishes for the upcoming festival using locally produced eggs.

Which of the following, if true, most undermines the conclusion stated in the passage above?

A) Many of the village youths choose to ignore the strictest tenets of religious tradition.
B) Most of the eggs in the local market were imported from overseas.
C) Most of the dishes for the upcoming festival will feature grains and vegetables, rather than animal products.
D) The local egg farmers have struggled with a recent bird flu, and have been forced to purchase new livestock at the regional market.
E) For the upcoming festival, prepared dishes are to be used as shrine ornaments and will be discarded when the festival has finished.

Clear E.

The tradition is regarding consumption of Dishes. Conclusion is focussed on preparing of dishes using eggs. If the dishes are not meant for consumption at all then the conclusion is undermined.

A)Many of the village youths choose to ignore the strictest tenets of religious tradition.---- Incorrect, because we do not know if youths are the ones cooking. What if the dishes are prepared by adults and they stick with the religious tradition.
B)Most of the eggs in the local market were imported from overseas.--- Strengthens the argument. Incorrect.
C)Most of the dishes for the upcoming festival will feature grains and vegetables, rather than animal products.--- Strengthens the argument because this says that dishes are vegetarian. That means neither local nor imported eggs will be used. Incorrect.
D)The local egg farmers have struggled with a recent bird flu, and have been forced to purchase new livestock at the regional market.--- No local eggs because of bird flu. Too bad, the people will go with imported eggs. Strengthens the argument. Incorrect.
E)For the upcoming festival, prepared dishes are to be used as shrine ornaments and will be discarded when the festival has finished.--- CORRECT, because the people choose not to consume the local eggs. But if the dishes are thrown away then the can use the eggs. Btw what a waste to just throw away dishes...
