The perimeter of square S and rectangle R are equal if the sides of R are in the ratio of 2:3 what is the ratio of the area of the region R to the area of S?

A. 25:26
B. 24:25
C. 5:6
D. 4:5

Perimeter of R: 4+6 = 10 (assuming unit length)
The Perimeter of S must also be 10, thus each side = 2.5

Area R/Area S = 6/6.25 = 24/25

Can also try other units if you want, for instance,

Perimeter of R = 8+12 = 20
Then Each side of S = 5

Area R/Area S = 24/25
