Is option D the correct answer?

OE :

probability that a new component will last for one year = probability the component wont fail immediately * probability that it lasts for one year
= 0.9 * 0.99
= 0.891

OA = D

Prob not fail = 1-0.1= 0.9
prob that last for 1 year= .9*.99=.891
