Statement 1 and 2 by themselves are insufficient to answer.

But, combining both we can determine the money saved by purchasing a dozen 7-ounce cans of soup at the reduced price rather than at the regular price= (1/3-1/4) *12

Therefore the answer should be C)

Both statements are separately not sufficient but if we combine them we get the the difference between the regular and reduced price hence the money saved.

If we analyze the question statement properly we need to know the regular price and reduced price
Statement 1 provides us info about regular price but no info about reduced price so insufficient
Statement 2 provides us info about reduced price but no info about regular price so insufficient
Combining both statements we get the necessary info about the money saved by buying dozen 7-ounce cans of soup
correct answer - C
