The discounted price of one can of soda is (0.85)($0.40), or $0.34. Therefore, the price of 72 cans of soda at the discounted price would be (72)($0.34), or $24.48.

Answer: D.

Total price without discount = 0.4 * 72 = 28.8

15% Discount \(= 28.8 * \frac{85}{100}\)

= 24.48

Answer = D

The price per can when purchased in a 24-can case is 0.4 x 0.85 = $0.34 per can.

Thus, 72 cans would cost 0.34 x 72 = $24.48.

Answer: D
