D?
It should be "has explored several alternatives" and not "explored several alternatives" because the affect of this activity continues in the present...
What is the OA?

The restructuring agency explored several alternatives, including complete and partial liquidation of assets, but has not found any feasible solution to the problems faced by the company.

A) explored several alternatives, including complete and partial liquidation of assets, but has not found.

Correct as per me.

B) had explored several alternatives, which includes complete and partial liquidation of assets, but has not found

Since the event of exploration is in past perfect tense, then the phrase "which includes complete and partial liquidation of assets" cannot be in present tense.

Hence, wrong.

C) explored several alternatives, including complete and partial liquidation of assets, did not found

"did not found" is wrong (a very common Indian grammar error). It should be "did not find". Also the order of the events in this sentence is not correct both exploration and finding are in same tense "past".

Hence, wrong.

D) has explored several alternatives, including complete and partial liquidation of assets, but has not found

the logical order of the events should be : first the exploration and then the findings. Here the tense of both events exploration and finding is same.

Hence, wrong.

E) has explored several alternatives, including complete and partial liquidation of assets, did not not found

"has explored" is present perfect tense; "did not find" is past tense, the order of events is not correct here. first the agency has to explore, then it will find anything. Also in this option "did not found" is wrong (a very common Indian grammar error). It should be "did not find".

Hence, wrong.

Please kudos my post, if it helped.
Correct me if I am wrong.

IMO A.

last clause should start with "but".
Option A,B & D left.
Wrong usage of past perfect tense in option B.

Between two options A,D...in this case simple past seems better than present perfect tense .

OA please.

I would say it´s D. Basically because of parallelism in the 3 structures

Option B - Had is incorrect
Option C & E - after comma we need connector - incorrect
Option D has explored...., but has ... awkward construction.
Option A - explored in simple past tense makes it concise. Hence the right choice

A should be the right answer.

Yes very true... The restructuring agency explored several alternatives, including complete and partial liquidation of assets, but has not found any feasible solution to the problems faced by the company.

<Clause 1>,...additional information...,<conjunction><Clause 2>

B -> alternatives is plural so it should be include
E,C -> We need a conjunction (FANBOYS) after comma to join two predicates with the same subject, so E & C are wrong.
D -> has explored implies that still in the process of exploring which is wrong as per the intended meaning

IMO A

I am going with C. Simple past tense do the job. Since exploration happened in the past, so solution were not found in the past too.

I go with 'D' too for parallelism in all three clauses as mentioned above.

Explored in A with including as continuation sounds awkward.

Good Question....+1

The sentence says that Restucturing company explored several alternatives; alternatives which included complete and partial liquidation of assets, but has not found any feasible solution....

Sentence A: Looks okay as the exploring took place before and is in past tense so lets hold it for a moment.

Sentence B : Had explored (action of of exploring happened earlier than another action in past, but there is none) and hence can be ruled out

Sentence C : Explored (verb 1) and did not found (verb 2) are not connected properly by FANBOYS so can be ruled out

D. Use of Has Explored (Present perfect) means the action is still continuing and Has not found means so far (in the most recent past) no solution has been found.... So D can be put on hold

E. Two verbs not connected by proper conjunction (Same as C)

The meaning of the sentence somehow conveys that efforts are still on and hence will chose D over A

Ans D

What is the source and OA?????

My choice D
Reason being the sentence first half is in present perfect (explored many .. but did not) shows process of exploration was done in past but its end successfully or can say its effect hence present perfect n correct structure of present perfect is has /have + pasr participle form of verb which is correctly used in D only.
Secondly parallel markers but also endorse D choice.

I would like to put up one question for everyone.

The United States attacked Iraq, claiming that the latter possessed WMDs, but the former has not found any of them till date.

This sentence is analogous to answer choice A. What is wrong with A?
Why D is better than A as per the given OA?

I second Marcab. I chose D thinking sequence of events makes more sense in A rather than that in D. I still could not figure out the difference between A & D and why D is preferred over A.

Waiting for fameatop for Source & OE. Really good question to clear my concepts about sequencing and inherent meaning.

We have to maintain || ism in the two different clauses of the sentences.

so both the below sentences are correct..

The restructuring agency explored several alternatives, including complete and partial liquidation of assets, but did not found any feasible solution to the problems faced by the company.

OR

The restructuring agency has explored several alternatives, including complete and partial liquidation of assets, but has not found any feasible solution to the problems faced by the company.

Now, the main difference that comes in the meaning is that the later displays the effect, although the former shows an event that happened in the past.

In A, The missing "has" in first clause breaks the parallelism with the second clause.
However, option D maintains that parallelism.

Option C could have been correct had "did not found" be written as "but did not found".

Thanks,
Jai
