2n+46 is 238 so
n+23 is 119
n should be 119-23 or 96

Let a > b,

a + b = 238
a - b = 46

=> a = 142
=> b = 96

Answer: A

Let x and y be two numbers

x+y = 238
x - y = 46

Adding both 2x = 284, x = 142

Substracting one from another, y = 96

Hence, largest number = 142

Assume two numbers x and y

x+y = 238
x-y = 46

Add both equation and solve, we get x = 142, y = 96

Smaller number : 96 Option A

Let \(x\) be the bigger no. and \(y\) be the smaller no.

Then,
x + y = 238 ...1

x - y = 46 ....2

Adding 1 & 2,
2x = 284
=> x = \(\frac{284}{2}\) = 142

\(From 1, \\
x + y = 238 \\
=> 142 + y = 238\\
=> y = 238 - 142 = 96\\
\)
Therefore, smaller no. = y = 96
Hence OA is (A)

X+Y = 238 ---- (1)
X-Y = 46 ---- (2)

(1) - (2) => 2Y = 192
y = 96

x+y = 238
x+96 = 238
x = 142

MIN(142,96) = 96

Answer A

Given:
a+b = 238
a-b = 46

To solve:
a-b = 46 can be re-written as a=46+b.
Insert that into a+b = 238.
You'll have 46+b+b= 238 --> 2b +46=238.
Solve for b: 2b = 192 --> b = 96
The answer is A.
