The table provides select information for turtle nest count estimates and trends at several individual Japanese beaches.

For each of the following statements, select True if the statement can be verified to be true based on the information provided. Otherwise, select False.

True.............False.............Statements
The greatest annual increase in estimated turtle nests experienced by any of the individual beaches was larger than 15%.
None of the prefectures listed reported a decrease in the number of turtle nests per year from their past estimate to the 2013 estimate.
If Maehama Beach experienced a constant percentage rate increase of estimated turtle nests beginning in 1989, it can be estimated that there would be more than 2,000 estimated nests on the beach by the year 2020.

I know this is a really silly question but can anyone explain the answer to : The greatest annual increase in estimated turtle nests experienced by any of the individual beaches was larger than 15%. ?

Can someone post the original explanation/solution? I have some doubts about my method to arrive at the right answer.

Regarding the first statement, Nagahama increased from 106 to 612, which is almost 500 % growth in close to 16 years. So annually it will grow at 500 / 16 ~ 31 % so greater than 15 %

Is this correct?

For this question, please let me know whether my understanding is correct or not -

From 1989 to 2013 (24 years) the percentage growth is = [(1637-611)/(611) * 100] = 167%

So annual growth will be around 167/24 = ~7%

Using this rate we can confidently say that within the next 3 years, there would be more than 2,000 estimated nests on the beach.

Please help.
