As , though we would know the number of miles driven by statement A and base fee per day for car by Statement B,
We do not know how many days was the car used .Hence, we cannot determine the car rental.

I am not sure where dis 'number of days' come into picture. Aren't we supposed to work on this problem assuming that the rental is being asked for a single day??

Using 1 AND 2, we can say

Rental(in dollars)=50d+0.3*25

Unless we know d, the number of days Peter kept the CAR, we won't be able to find out the exact cost.

If Peter kept the car for 1 day;
Rental=50*1+0.3*25=50+7.5=\$57.5

If Peter kept the car for 100 days;
Rental=50*100+0.3*25=5000+7.5=\$5007.5

Not Sufficient.

Ans: "E"

No we cannot assume it to be just one day unless it is specified in the question.. ...we should only work with the details provided in the questions.This stands for all DS problems.
