First, "isolated from" is better than "in isolation from", and so A, C, E are eliminated.

(When there are two phrases with same meaning, verb expression comes before verb+noun expression.)

In B, some people might think that "humans are longer than their marsh cousins", as B could seem like "humans (who are) longer than their marsh cousins".

Therefore, I pick (D).

The best answer is D. The phrasing of the comparisons in choices A, B, and E is incomplete, so the comparisons are ambiguous. Choice D employs concise, idiomatic phrasing to express a logically complete comparison.
