Isolated or in isolation? Think about this. When you say isolated, it may imply that they were isolated by some body or person. On the contrary, in isolation can be just evolutionary and self-made, which is what more likely to be in such cases So, isn’t C better?

in isolation Vs isolated from

Author's intention : some subspecies named "The woodland sub-species" were not in CONTACT with humans though, their marsh cousins or the tree-dwelling sub-species were in contact with humans more than them.

Now, "isolation from contacts with human" Vs "isolation from humans itself"?

"isolated from" points towards permanent separation of an species with another whereas "in isolation with"states separation of a species from the CONTACTS with the humans.
