In this case, I guess "in that" is better than "because".

I'll pick (A), thought I don't like the phrase 'on both A and on B'.

(a) enormously in that a single tree, depending on both its size and on climate and altitude, could produce

(c) enormously, because a single tree, depending on its size and on climate and altitude, is able to produce

C should be ok.

A is not correct because use of "both" is not correct here. the correct usage is "both x and y". In A, if "depending on both its size and on climate and altitude" were "depending both on its size and on climate and altitude", A would be ok..

I vote for C coz I prefer because over in that
I eliminate choice A and E for the following reasons:

A should be written as both on its size and on climate and altitude.

E should be written as both on its size and on climate and altitude"

OA plz

Cheers

C it is..

we need an adverb "depending" to set the dependent clause.... C gets it right..

Late, but C.

IMO B is wrong because it is unnecessarily wordy. C gets the point across directly (as opposed to in a more direct manner  ) without having embellish the meanings of because and depending on.
