Let total bill be x.
Shay paid $7 less than half of total bill = \(\frac{1}{2}x - 7\)
Ashley paid $8 more than 1/4 of total bill = \(\frac{1}{4}x + 8\)
Jenna paid $20 = 20
\(x = \frac{1}{2}x - 7 + \frac{1}{4}x + 8 + 20\)
\(x = \frac{2x + 1x}{4} + 21\)
\(x = \frac{3x}{4} +21\)
\(x - \frac{3x}{4} = 21\)
\(\frac{4x-3x}{4} =21\)
\(1x = 21*4\)
\(x = $84.\) Answer D...

Let total bill be '4x'. Then Shay paid = 2x - 7, and Ashley paid = x + 8
Remaining (share of Jenna) = 4x - (2x- 7 + x+8) = x - 1. This is given to be $20
So x - 1 = 20 thus x = 21.
Total bill = 4x = 4*21 = 84. Hence D answer
