Price of 1 ticket = 20$
Revenue generated from sales of first 10 tickets = 10 * (60/100 * 20 )
= 10 * 12 = 120
Revenue generated from sales of next 20 tickets = 20 *(85/100 * 20 )
=20*17 = 340
Revenue generated from sales of last 26 tickets = 20 * 26
= 520
Revenue generated from sales of 56 tickets = 120 + 340 + 520
= 980 $

First 10 on 40% discount i.e. 12 each for first 10 tickets =$120
Next 20 on 15% discount i.e. 17 each for next 20 tickets = $340
Rest 26 got tickets for $20 = 520
Total = 120 + 340 + 520 = $ 980
D is the answer

Simple

17(20) = 340
12(10) =120

56-30 = 26
26(20) + 460 =980

Thus

We will assume that those who bought the tickets after the first 30 people will not receive any discount. That is, they have to pay the full price of the ticket.

If that is the case, then the total revenue from the ticket sales was:

20 x 0.6 x 10 + 20 x 0.85 x 20 + 20 x (56 - 30)

120 + 340 + 520 = 980

Answer: D
