We need to have a list containing items that are parallel.
Out of the given options, only E gives us a parallel list - by video games, online chats and television

Correct Option: E

Official Explanation

(A) This answer choice is grammatically incorrect. The first and last items in the list are nouns (video games, television), but the middle item is a verb (to chat).

What helps us identify this question as a Parallelism question as well as identify the mistake is the following Stop Sign:

A list of 3 items or more, separated by commas and and/or before the last item.

(B) This answer choice repeats the original Parallelism mistake. The first and last items in the list are nouns (video games, television), but the middle item is a verb (having).

(C) This answer choice repeats the original Parallelism mistake. The first and last items in the list are nouns (video games, television), but the middle item is a verb (to have).

(D) This answer choice repeats the original Parallelism mistake. The first and last items in the list are nouns (video games, television), but the middle item is a verb (chat).

(E) In the original sentence, the first and last items in the list are nouns (video games, television), but the middle item is a verb (to chat online). This answer choice corrects the mistake by using the noun chats.

Answer: E
