Hello all,

I am planning to apply for B-schools next fall and have my GMAT scheduled Aug 31st. Is that too late for giving my GMAT? And do chances decrease if we apply in Round-2?

Thanks,
K

it is not too late. many R1 ends around NOV. So assuming you study the rest of the way and get a decent score you could apply for R1 no problem. I would try to get letter of recs for schools now though to speed things up a bit. For R1/R2 comparison some people say there's not a huge difference and i dont think it is a deal breaker if you dont get into R1 and had to apply R2.

That was a quick reply. Thanks a ton for the advice. :)

not too late at all...

but i would say focus on your gmat from now until your test date (aug 31). that'll give you enough time all of sept-nov for rd2 deadlines. i would focus more on rd2 in your case (since rd1) is cutting it very close...

it's doable, but you will have only september to grind through essays and stuff for many Oct rd1 deadline.

Thank you. My friends told me that they give more weightage to Round 1 than Round 2 but the admit history in gmat club points otherwise. So that was the main concern I had.
