Like those of the african white and black rhinos, the Sumatran rhinos has two horns, but the front one is generally less than a foot long and the second is so smal that it often appears to be missing.

a.Like those of the african white and black rhinos
Modifier refers to horns while modified noun is rhino.

b. similar to that of the african white and black rhinos
"Similar to that" is again referring to the something probably horns but not clear...

c. like that of the african white and black rhinos
"that" refer is unclear

d. as with the african white and black rhinos'
"As with.... rhinos' " has rhinos' apostrophe indicating possesive.. incorrect.

e. like the african white and black rhinos
Simple and concise... Correct.

I just realized that there is a typo in your question:

"the Sumatran rhinos has two horns"

should read

"the Sumatran rhinos have two horns"

I have a question,

I have come across sentences in which Like is not exactly followed by a clause, but may be a noun which is further modified,
for instance Like the Rhinos that....

So my question here is, lets just the sentence is - Like that of the african white and black rhinos, the Sumatran rhinos's...
Will it be a correct usage of like?
