Hello 2013 Bschool admits!



Huge congratulations on the stellar admits and matriculation:)

Congratulations on your phenomenal admit to your dream schools. I am sure you are excited to start the journey, and your perseverance with the GMAT and the application process has rewarded you aptly.

Its absolutely great that you have been active on the forums for such a long time and we are really happy to see the 2012 admits batch helping you and your team with advice, sometimes taunts and seniorish scolding but mostly unadulterated support.

Looking at all the support and wisdom that current students and alums are willing to share, we are planning to create a thread for current students and alums of a particular school in its sub-forum (you have surely noticed the change that we have brought in the Business School forums and now every school has its own nice little forum of itself).

The planned current student thread will serve a dual purpose -- It will act as a cozy little home for current student and alums, their club-job talk, scoops in business school and other crazy things related to the business school experience, and it will also act as a space for future applicants to get help from current students and alums and have a virtual tour of how the school life is going to be.

We invite you to be one of the leaders of the current students bandwagon for your school and share your wisdom and advice to the next batch of applicants. We know that this is early and neither the dates nor the essays for the next cycle has been released yet. But should that stop you all to engage in virtual apartment hunting, club discussions and whats hot in the woods of Hanover or the streets of Evanston? :)

Roles of 2014 ambassadors


  • Act as mentors for 2014 applicants.
  • Be the all-mighty of a particular B School :)
  • Participate in and encourage career discussions post B School.
  • Have fun in general.

Great initiative - I'm ok with the ambassador nomination, but not so sure how the 'current students' threads are going to work. My best bet is that most schools already have Facebook groups (or even internal social network sites) for specific batches where they can discuss school-specific stuff with their classmates.

The only benefit of nominating ambassadors would be to ensure the right/targeted information is provided to prospective students on this forum. To do this, the prospective students should be able to do what they've been doing, which is to create threads with targeted questions. Maybe I'm not understanding how these 'current students' threads can be best utilised.
