Hi Nevernevergiveup

Because and so indicate same purpose and are redundant in usage - agreed

(C) Because the body adapts more readily to lengthened days than to shortened ones, so most people experience “jet lag” less severely when they travel
(considering so is not here, will the choice be correct?)

What about parallelism error present in the sentence?
when they travel is not parallel to non underlined portion when traveling eastward.

lengthened days is must parallel to shortened days

non underlined portion mentioned clearly is than when traveling eastward

so, the underlined portion must be parallel to non underlined portion.

when traveling westward than when traveling eastward looks better.

so, only option a, b and e does it.

among the options.

in A and E , lenghtened days to shortened days is parallelism not maintained.

so option B is correct.

apart from above error analysis, in option C usage of Beacuse is dependent clause,

it follow with independent clause. after comma usage of so becomes dependent clasue. so it is run on sentence and both usage of beacuse and so for reason
is redundancy.

option E usage of jet lag less severly usage is awkward.

2 parallel structures. lengthened-shortened and traveling. B only satisfies the answer.

Step 1: days can not be compared to them.
-> A,D,E Eliminated.
Step 2: Use of Because and so introduces redundancy.
-> C Eliminated.

Day 3 Question of the Verbal Contest: GMAT Club RATT Race

Hi, This question can be easily solved by eliminating choices that show redundancy or pronoun errors. B is the best among all options.

I have one question . Does Meaning wise "The body" tells specific body? The makes things specific? Meaning wise is this question incorrect?

It is OK to refer to an entire group (here "body") by using the definite article "the". Here "the" does not refer to a specific body but bodies of all human as a group.
