I think this primary is getting so much coverage for two reasons: (1) history being made (Obama/Clinton) and (2) the races are still wide-open. Usually by Super Tuesday, there is at least a pretty established front-runner in each party. Not the case this time.

HA HAH! Nice ad!
Also, I agree with msday, but think that the state of War on Terror, the involvement of the US in Iraq, and the economic turmoil are resulting in increased coverage of the primaries. The world is eager to know the front runners who will inherit each of the above situations.

GOBAMA!

I'm disappointed New York didn't come through for Barack. C'mon California! Do the "Barackaway."

And how on earth did he lose Massachusetts? After all those endorsements? Seriously, Boston - this was your chance to get back at New York for the Super Bowl. :)

Hmm, 2 Obama supporters. Are there any other Republicans on this board?

I don't have a vote, Prodigy - so my opinion isn't worth squat. :)

Who are you rooting for? I promise I won't make this a red. vs. blue debate. I'm just really into politics, that's all.

I don't mind a debate, though I really don't want to start an angry thread on this otherwise cordial message board. I'm no political wonk, but given the effects good and bad policies can have on people I feel obligated to pay very very close attention to the issues of the day. :)

Anyway, I'm a Romney supporter.

River: It's okay, this certainly won't be the first time I've been wildly outnumbered in a political discussion.

I could stomach Romney if he kept his stances from when he was governor on abortion, gay rights, and all those moderate positions he once held.

I am watching CNN...I think Huckabees wife is scary in HD. Good lord she looks like a troll.

Well if that were the key criterion for a great president, Dennis Kucinich would be #1. :-D

I'm kidding!

Obama is holding his own. I was nervous Hillary would stomp him.

As for hot wives, McCain is a pimp...his wife is like 15-18 years younger than him and looks darn good for an 50+ year old woman. She as probably quite the looker back in the day. Same with Fred Thompson and Kucinich, both have trophy wives.

Oh yeah, and don't forget he was leading in virtually every primary poll in California this week. He's still pulling in delegates in states he's been trounced in. This is going to go down to the wire.

And in other news, the Asian markets are tanking as we speak. Don't know if there's a connection.

So basically, you prefer a liberal republican? haha
You'll get that with McCain at least. I can cede you the gay marriage issue (though that *really* isn't even close to the top of my list of important things to worry about now) as I don't think it meshes well with limited government to go around making constitutional amendments to stop it from happening. But abortion... do you really think the GOP would elect a nominee who isn't pro-life? Look at Rudy's campaign if you're unsure of a possible answer to that.

I have a question to people who support Obama wholeheartedly: Why?

I think a lot of the rest of the world are unsure about Obama's experience, particularly in foreign policy.

Personally, I think he would make a better candidate next time round. (Much like an B-School would say, apply again after a bt more experience  )

You know, that's one thing about our political system that I really don't like. How is any candidate supposed to be fresh and new if they have to pass a litmus test that is set out by varying groups of lobbyists? So Romney may have been on one side of the issues (though let's be real here, no way Romney would have gotten elected if he hadn't of tacked left in Massachusetts) in the past, but I'm not actually voting on gun rights, abortion, gay marriage, etc.

I'm voting for someone with real business acumen (people on this board should at LEAST respect that  ) and an ability to look at problems and take them apart to find solutions. I don't think Romney is actually as liberal as he was in MA and I don't think he's as conservative as he claims to be now. No, I actually think he is very pragmatic, and willing to look at a problem through a conservative lens and try to find a real solution.

Why not...you have your beliefs I have mine. I believe women arent retarded and can decide what to do with their own bodies? I decide that gays are people too, if I can marry my wife why couldnt my buddy marry his bf? Why should a hedge fund manager be taxed at a lower rate than his secretary? Why should my friends who could afford to go to college go to war and die why a bunch of oil companies are making 40billion a year?

Sorry but I would vote for a 5th grader with down syndrome before I would vote for a republican. I dont care if I pay end up paying 40% taxes, at least i can stomach that since they might do some good with it instead of spending billions on a war that never should have happened. Oh by the way I work for the DOD, democrats are far bigger supporters of the military and its employees than republicans. They fight for pay, benefits, healthcare for veterans...

Oh dont get me started on the religious right and social conservatives...last thing we need is a minister in the white house.

Also the republicans ran it for 8 years and look at how crappy things ended up. Lets see if the dems can do better.

I said I was a staunch democrat...dont mean to offend. These opinions are solely those of mine and are not shared by gmatclub.com.
