Guys,

I'm having a very tough time with mixture problems specially problems dealing with mixing solutions. Can somebody suggest good study material for this and also the place where i can get the best practice questions for these kinds of problems.

Thanks

Trahul,
Same boat as you. GMAT 800 has a decent intro./summary regd. how to solve these kind of questions. Aside from that, I've found the forum the most helpful resource.

Here is a posting from a few years ago in which we discussed mixture problems. This is a tough question, but the methodology is right on the money. We can do a new posting on mixtures and solutions if want after messing with this.

Here is the question from then:

One fourth of a solution that was 10 percent sugar by weight was replaced by a second solution resulting in a solution that was 16 percent sugar by weight. The second solution was what percent sugar by weight ?

(A) 34%

(B) 24%

(C) 22%

(D) 18%

(E) 8.5%
