(A) an especially dangerous disease because it spreads through air and requires a complex therapeutic regimen for curing it.
(B) an especially dangerous disease spreading through air and requiring a complex therapeutic regimen for curing it
(C) an especially dangerous disease because it spreads through air and requires a complex therapeutic regimen to cure

Tuberculosis, a major cause of death in most of the third world countries is an especially dangerous disease because it spreads through air and requires a complex therapeutic regimen to cure.

With others (C) is the best, errors in other options highlighted in RED...

Tuberculosis, a major cause of death in most of the third world countries is an especially dangerous disease because it spreads through air and requires a complex therapeutic regimen for curing it.

Use of 'especially' is correct in this case. 'especially' is used to draw attention to tuberculosis and point that it is much more dangerous than other diseases.

So we are left with options A, B, C.
(A) an especially dangerous disease because it spreads through air and requires a complex therapeutic regimen for curing it.
Use of curing is wrong. Breaks parallelism. Could have been 'regimen to cure it'.

C) an especially dangerous disease because it spreads through air and requires a complex therapeutic regimen to cure
requires a regimen to cure whom? Does not correctly refer to the disease's cure.

(B) an especially dangerous disease spreading through air and requiring a complex therapeutic regimen for curing it
Correct answer. Fulfills parallelism.

As i saw in the Manhattan forum, especially is used for not good things while specially is used for good things.

my take: C

(A) an especially dangerous disease because it spreads through air and requires a complex therapeutic regimen for curing it.
repeats two times IT

(B) an especially dangerous disease spreading through air and requiring a complex therapeutic regimen for curing it
removes the causality - so not good.

(C) an especially dangerous disease because it spreads through air and requires a complex therapeutic regimen to cure
rectifies the only error in A.

(D) a specially dangerous disease because it spreads through air and requires a complex therapeutic regimen to cure
specially dangerous - changes the meaning

(E) a specially dangerous disease spreading through air and requiring a complex therapeutic regimen to cure it.
specially dangerous - changes the meaning
+ removes the causality

C looks the best to me.

The rule is: Use an before a word beginning with a vowel sound (not letter). It doesn’t matter how the word is spelled. It just matters how it is pronounced. Use a before a word with a consonant sound as well as y and w sounds.
So D,E : Eliminated

A,B & C : Curing it wrongly use in A &B (Tense error)

C is correct
